Floral Media Wedding Photographer – Katie & Simon.
Katie and Simon were recommended to me by fellow Nottingham photographer, Amy Newton. One of the things I love about the wedding photography industry is the community you build around you. Which means I’m armed with loads of amazing wedding suppliers to suit every style of weddings.
As soon as I meet Katie and Simon I knew their wedding was going to fun from Katie’s infectious smile and excitement for their big day. When they first told me they were getting married at a garden centre I thought, “these guys are absolutely bonkers”. Picturing the suburban garden centre full of weekend shoppers and half-dead plants!
A Nottingham Garden Wedding
But when I looked up Floral Media in Caunton, Nottinghamshire I could see exactly why they’d picked this venue. Floral Media is no ordinary garden centre – set in the Nottinghamshire countryside. Complete with a Garden Rooms and a Palm House surrounded by gorgeous floral gardens.
The bridal prep started the day off at Katie’s parents’ home with all her bridesmaids. This part of the day is so useful for me, it means everyone can get used to having me and my cameras around. Pretty quickly after I arrive, even the most camera-shy can relax and I often feel like one of the family!
Floral Media’s stunning gardens
The sun was shining that morning for Katie’s ride to the church in their VW Camper van. But by the time we got to their wedding reception venue the heavens had well and truly opened. The Bride and Groom made a quick dash from the camper van into the venue – luckily with the biggest of smiles on their faces.
As the party got started and the tunes and champagne flowed the rain eventually stopped. Which meant everyone could mingle outside for the all-important portraits and group photos.
English Tea Wedding Breakfast
Whilst the heavens opened once again, English Tea was served in the main dining area. Whilst another room in the venue began to flood! The owner, few of the groomsmen and my self shot into action to sweep the rain out. The venue staff did such an amazing job to clear up before the disco started up!
Thankfully, the sun came out for the rest of the day so I grabbed Katie and Simon for some beautiful evening portraits amongst the luscious gardens. I wasn’t risking another downpour…
