Donna & Kurtis picked the stunning Priory House for their alternative wedding day. Priory House is a quirky Grade II country house nestled away in Lincolnshire full to the brim of exotic eccentricities. Created by the artist owners who rescued the building, they combined their eclectic passions to create this visual feast of a wedding venue. Think crystal chandeliers, antique gold furniture, huge mirrors and sweeping staircase.
A Wedding Photographers Dream
When I arrived at Priory House, I was greeted by 3 camper vans and a fish and chip van – this was going to be a GOOD day! The day started with Donna and her girls getting ready in the beautiful rooms at Priory House with a visit from Poppy, their flower girl/dog. Poppy is a gorgeous 2-year-old lurcher, complete with her very own flower collar she was such an important part of their day.
If you’re eagle-eyed, you might even spot another furry friend. Jasper the Chihuahua belongs to their best man, David. In fact, Donna & Kurtis had so many requests from wedding guests to bring their dogs. They would have loved to invite them all, but the humans would have been massively out numbered!
Garden Room Wedding Ceremony
Donna wore a stunning modern wedding dress with a classic lace twist from the WTOO collection by Watters. I will never forget the look on Kurtis as she walked down the aisle towards him in that the dress, he was utterly speechless.
Their emotion-filled ceremony took place in the Garden Room, a wonderfully quirky room with ivory silk drapes and a dramatic black and white chequered floor.
The emotion flowed through from their incredible wedding ceremony to the reception. The room filled with laughter and tears, especially when it came to Donna’s Dad’s speech – even I had to keep the tissues close by!
