Tipi in the Forest Wedding

Joel and Fran’s relaxed woodland wedding at Sherwood Glade in Nottinghamshire was such an incredible day to photograph. The couple started their morning just ten minutes away at Fairview Farm Holiday accommodation, surrounded by countryside and even a few friendly animals to keep things entertaining while everyone got ready. It created a fun and laid-back start to the day before everyone made their way over to the beautiful woodland setting at Sherwood Glade.

Relaxed Woodland Vibes

The ceremony itself was wonderfully personal. Joel and Fran chose to get married outdoors in the forest, with a close friend leading the ceremony beneath the trees. It felt incredibly intimate and meaningful, with nature providing the perfect backdrop. After the ceremony, guests gathered around the amazing tipi for the wedding breakfast and speeches – a super cool space that perfectly matched the relaxed woodland vibe of the day.

Pizza and a Mr Whippy

Food was a huge highlight of the celebration. Guests enjoyed delicious street food, including freshly made pizzas from local favourite Rustic Crust Pizza, alongside a tasty hog roast and BBQ. Joel and Fran also made sure their golden retriever, Charlie, had an important role in the day as the ring bearer. Charlie was an absolute star and even joined in for some of the posed photos. With garden games spread across the grounds and an ice cream van serving up treats – including the chance for guests to make their own classic 99s – the atmosphere was full of laughter and fun.

Saxophone in the Tipi

As the evening celebrations began, Fran changed into a super stylish short white dress that was perfect for dancing. The party really got going when Paul Martin, the DJ and saxophone player, kicked off the evening entertainment. With live sax over the DJ set, the dance floor quickly filled up, and guests danced the night away. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable Sherwood Glade tipi wedding, and an absolute joy to capture as a Nottingham wedding photographer.
